Elise Batchelor is a public presenter, MC, writer and teacher. She explores culture, the arts and people and loves to connect with fascinating Australians who tell their stories with flare and wisdom. Elise advocates for kids’ lit and is enamoured with Oz Lit authors and illustrators  with storytelling pizzazz. She’ll listen to others tell their stories and will often be found hosting cultural and community events..

Elise has written for the Pilbara Echo newspaper and is a freelance reporter for ABC North West WA. Since 2012 she and photographic partner Rob Whitehead have covered Sunset Events’ North West Festival in Port Hedland. Elise is passionate about capturing the experiences of everyday people and generating enthusiasm in Literature and the wider Arts landscape.

Elise is also an experienced poet, entertaining audiences with weekly humorous poems for several years as the “Pilbara Poet” through radio and newspaper. She was also a performing finalist at the Sydney Opera House in the ABC’s national Poetry Slam in 2008.
